Characters

Figures have always been central to stained glass, from the saints and apostles of medieval windows to the historical, literary and mythical characters of the Victorian period. Modern glass has added cartoon figures, animals and storybook characters, especially in family venues and children’s spaces. The photographs below show figures and characters in glass, from church windows to leisure and commercial buildings.
