Victorian and Gothic Revival

The Victorian era and the Gothic Revival, from 1837 into the early twentieth century, were a high point for decorative glass. Churches were rebuilt and restored in medieval style, factories made coloured glass in quantity, and ordinary houses gained stained and leaded front doors, hallways and bay windows. Many of the windows and doors photographed on this site belong to this period. See stained glass styles by period for how the eras compare.
