Art Nouveau

Art Nouveau, at its height from about 1890 to 1910, drew on plants, flowing lines and the female figure, and gave decorative glass some of its most recognisable designs. Whiplash curves, stylised roses and elongated stems appear in doors, windows and screens in Britain, Europe and America. Many later designs, including the Mackintosh rose, owe a debt to the style. See stained glass styles by period for how the eras compare.
