Art Deco, popular from the 1920s to the 1930s, replaced the curving lines of Art Nouveau with sunbursts, stepped shapes, fans, chevrons and strong geometry. In glass it appears in cinemas, hotels, shops, and the front doors of inter-war houses, often in clear and etched glass as well as colour. See stained glass styles by period for how the eras compare.
