Enamelled Windows for the Punshon Church

Following the deterioration of the award winning windows of the Punshon Church in the centre of Bournemouth we were called in to advise. The window illustrated the sentiments of the hymn "There is a Green Hill far away" with a symbolized Crown of Thorns spread across three walls of 44 panels each.

The original windows were made by sandwiching pieces of coloured fibre matting between two panes of glass but ingress of water had caused the colours to leach out, leaving a dull lifeless effect. By reproducing the design on single sheets of glass using traditional glass painters' stains and enamels we have guaranteed many years of extra life and given the congregation back their vibrantly coloured windows.
